Anusha and Mael had booked me for their engagement shoot, and I was super excited to capture their love in some of London’s most beautiful spots. We spent a cloudy summer afternoon wandering through Marylebone and St James’s Park, and while we did hope for a bit of the golden hour (which we didn't get), the soft, overcast light made the city’s charm even more magical and London couldn't be more itself in such lighting. The couple had shared some inspiration with me ahead our shoot, so I built a mood board around their ideas, focusing on wide-angle shots to highlight the beauty of each location we had on our way. With that in mind, I had planned an itinerary to make sure we hit as many stunning spots as possible with the 2 hours we had before the sunset.
We started at Brown Hart Gardens - a true hidden gem just off Oxford Street that I’d never been to before (what a find!). From there, we made our way through the greenery of Grosvenor Square, and then to Mount St Gardens, a serene cosy oasis right in the middle of the city. Then the red-brick mansions along South St gave us a perfect backdrop before we ended the shoot in St James’s Park, with a few snaps in front of the Buckingham Palace. Even though this was their first photoshoot, Anusha and Mael were absolute naturals in front of the camera. They followed my prompts with ease, focusing on each other and letting their love shine through. It was such a joy to capture their story in a way that felt authentic and cinematic.
